Concord Street Sweets is back with the Market this week. We thank you for your patience with us as we worked through the busy holiday season with lots of special catering. Now we are back to serve our loyal Market customers.
Not only have we just ushered in a New Year, but later this month, we are celebrating the 6th Birthday of The Wednesday Market! We look forward to a happy and prosperous new year of providing our customers with fresh, wholesome fruits, vegetables, eggs, milk, honey, poultry, seafood, meat, herbs, spices, jams, jellies, baked goods, and prepared food items. Don’t forget that the Market is also a great source for unique handmade gifts and pure health and beauty aids.

This is the last opportunity our customers have to order from the Market before Christmas. If you still have friends and family to purchase gifts for, consider buying from our farmers, producers, and vendors.
While you all know that you can get milk, eggs, vegetables, meats, olive oil, and honey from The Wednesday Market, do you know that you can purchase some really CUTE crocheted characters that are perfect for brightening someone’s day? We also have great aprons and tote bags from re-purposed feed bags. Dried herbs and spices make perfect presents for the cooks on your list. Have you tried the wholesome health and beauty aids available through the Market? Do you have a potluck or party to attend but just don’t have the time or ambition to put together a dish or bake a cake? Let our bakers be your heroes by providing just the right goodies and entrees for your holiday celebrations. These are but a few of the many items offered by our dedicated farmers, skilled crafters, expert bakers and others who work diligently week in and week out to make our Market successful.

Several of you have already placed orders by now, but it bears reminding others that you do not have to wait for the arrival of this weblog in your in-box to be able to order. The market is always turned on around midnight on Saturday, or in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday. Please do not wait on me to place your order!
We are still in search of a volunteer to take over the weekly milk run. If you are interested in volunteering, please speak with Anna Evans or Sharon Fox. Our current milk “picker-upper” Jennifer Adams will happily train you to take over her spot on The Wednesday Market staff.
In this season of rushing around, trying to find the perfect gift for someone, or looking for a unique item to present to your favorite hostess, isn’t it satisfying to have great local sources to choose from? The Wednesday Market is a fabulous resource for those of us who are looking for something different than what we could find a big box retailer. Please check out this market’s offerings before heading to town to shop the traditional stores.

This is a reminder that you have until about midnight tonight to place your Wednesday Market order for Thanksgiving week. The system will be TURNED OFF for ordering at 11:59 p.m. Orders are ready for pickup TUESDAY, Nov. 22, between 3 and 6 p.m.
Our normal ordering pattern resumes on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 11 p.m.

The weather is cool and refreshing today, and it is perfect weather to get outside and enjoy the day. We encourage you to visit McCrary Farm’s Harvest Festival today, going on til 5 p.m. Food, fun, entertainment, and crafts galore are to be had there.
