If you’re a football fan and will be watching the Superbowl, I hope the team you are rooting for wins. I’ll be cheering on the Eagles (since the Falcons didn’t make it to the big game this year!). And did you hear the news? The groundhogs saw their shadows the other day, so the “prediction” is for 6 more weeks of winter. My family can’t wait til Spring.

As you know, the Market was cancelled this past Wednesday due to the ice and snow. Any orders that were placed last week were DELETED from the system. Please place your order for products that you want for this week. In other words, this is a normal ordering cycle (as long as the weather cooperates and no other disaster presents itself!).
Safety is a priority for the managers of The Wednesday Market. If you have been a longtime customer, you may recall a Wednesday afternoon a year or so ago upon which there were tornado warnings throughout our area just as pick up time was about to start. We delayed the Market pick up for a day. Doing so inconvenienced a customer or two, but we felt holding the Market in a tornado was just too risky.
We encourage our Wednesday Market community to pay special attention to the weather when bad conditions are forecast. We will do our best to make the right decision as to whether to go ahead with our regular schedule or postpone or cancel the Market, and send out an email blast to notify everyone.
We are hopeful that Old Man Winter is going to ease up on us soon, and that we will have a warm and happy Spring. Until then, thank you for your support of locally grown agriculture and for buying locally.

WEdnesday Market closed Jan 17, 2017 due to impending inclement weather
Hi All WEdnesday Market Supporters!
We are sorry but we have decided to close the Wednesday Market this week [Jan 17] due to the impending bad weather. All the schools in our area Spalding, Butts, Pike, Lamar, and Henry [so far] are officially closed tomorrow. We feel that we can not risk the safety of our customers or our vendors. In the South we are just not equipped to deal with ice and snow. Broken bones and fender benders are no fun. So please be safe tomorrow, and the rest of the week, by staying in and staying warm. We hope you have no emergencies to call you out into this cold. We look forward to serving you again next week when things return to normal. It has been a crazy winter so far hasn’t it. Stay tuned.Thanks for supporting local agriculture through the Wednesday Market!

How are y’all enjoying this cold weather? Although I really don’t like being cold, I have to say – it’s about time we had a REAL winter. There is a season for everything. On days like this, my plan is to make something hot and tasty in the slow cooker. Beef pot roast, perhaps!
