Good Afternoon! It's Ordering Time.

Good afternoon.

The Wednesday Market is open for ordering. Please place your order by 10 p.m. Monday. Orders are ready for pick up between 2 and 4 p.m. Wednesday. See the website for this week’s product offerings. Here is the link: https://wednesdaymarket.locallygrown.net/market

My maternal grandparents came of age during the Great Depression. Having lived through such difficult times, they were exceptionally resourceful people. They were parents of seven children and lived on a farm with beef cattle, dairy cows, and chickens. Planting a garden was not a hobby – it was a necessity. Even well into their later years, Mamaw and Papaw still planted and shared their vegetables with friends and neighbors.

Did you ever contemplate how much to plant to grow your own vegetables for a year? Take a look at this website for a family who has successfully grown and put away enough food for themselves for a year: https://www.theseasonalhomestead.com/

Several family members are planning to sow gardens this spring, and while we won’t be able to feed everyone for a whole year, we are looking forward to learning just what we can do. In the meantime, we’re trying to stay warm!

I hope you all have a restful Sunday, and we’ll see you at the Market.

Thanks,

Beverly
